Collection: Tamahagane/Orishigane

Tamahagane and Orishigane are tartar steels, made from the smelting of iron sand and pine charcoal. The resulting pieces of steel are laminated together, then folded several times to remove impurities and distribute the carbon throughout.

The both create beautiful "hada" patterns.
